Speech note for the “Controversies of Same-sex Marriage” Seminar
Referring to the questions raised by the speeches made in “Controversies of Same-sex Marriage” Seminar, the Pastoral Committee would like to re-emphasize, the principle of the Catholic Church that it is not permissible to rely on means damaging to the common good of the society, to tackle problems that can be solved through administrative means. The Catholic Church does not accept or approve Same-sex Marriage, and does not believe the recognition of Sex-sex Union is beneficial to the common good or the morality of the society, and that could be a probable way forward. Yet, through administrative measures and other means, to tackle the difficulties in hospital visit, burial or others, suitable support should be given to cater the need for persons in non-marriage relationship.
